Log Cabin Electrical Installation

Our electrical installation costs approximately £575 and includes consumer unit, armoured cable, two double sockets, a light switch, standard pendant light, and safety certificates.

Some companies now claim to offer installation for half this cost but it does not include armoured cable or connection to the main consumer unit or any groundwork. It might make a good headline price but it is not a complete installation.

Our electricians will aim to accommodate all your requirements so if you need further sockets or lighting this can be arranged at a discounted rate.

Adding electrics to your log cabin

To make full use of your garden office you will need power installed and to comply with current building regulations part P the following applies:

From 1 January 2005 it is a legal requirement for all work on fixed electrical installations in dwellings and associated buildings to comply with BS 7671: 2001, 'Requirements for electrical installations' (The IEE Wiring Regulations 16th Edition).

Where possible we use Electrical engineers we have used several times before but in some areas we arrange for several quotes from local engineers bearing in mind our experience of the likely costs in different areas. If you would prefer to select your own electrician we can work with them during the first and second fix as we assemble your log cabin.

In some cases armoured cable can be surface mounted all the way to the log cabin but often there is trenchwork involved and this is budgeted into our costs.

All our electricians work to the UK national standard, BS 7671, and will issue a safety certificate for their electrical work to confirm that the installation has been designed, constructed, inspected and tested in accordance with the national electrical safety standard, BS 7671 - Requirements for Electrical Installations.
